Let's just be honest: mom life is crazy. Most of the time it seems like we are just hanging on for dear life as our emotional, needy, fickle, high-energy kids take the reins. No two days are alike, and while that leaves you with never having a dull moment, it also makes for a bit of chaos (mixed in with a lot of really beautiful moments).
So, how does one survive motherhood? And possibly even thrive in this role? Well, I'm no expert, but I'd like to think that I have navigated through my 2 1/2 years of motherhood fairly well. And along the way, through the blunders and lessons learned, I have come to find that there are some things out there that a mom just needs to help her out on this wild journey.
Essential Items For Your #MomLife Wardrobe
These clothing items will make you feel comfortable while also appearing to have put some thought into your outfit. And let's be honest, as moms, we need go-to items that allow us to keep up with all the messy and erratic moments that are all too frequent when raising children.
Loose, comfy tees
I recently invested in these soft, comfy tees from a few small shops and I am in LOVE with them. Seriously, these are my favorite items in my closet because they are comfortable, hide parts of my mom body I'd rather not accentuate, have super cute graphics on them, and can be dressed up or down depending on what I'm doing. Since my life revolves around bible study, play dates, Target trips, grocery runs, and hanging around the house, I mostly go with the casual look. But pair a cute necklace or some earrings and these could all easily be perfect for date night or brunch with the girls!

Mom Life Tee // Charlotte + Ezra
These come in so handy when you are taking care of little ones. They are a simple addition to your mom wardrobe that, like the tees, can be dressed up or down while also allowing you to dress a little more modestly. They are also so incredibly comfortable and just feel like you are walking around in a hug all day. Or like wearing a robe all day, except it's socially acceptable to wear them out in public. I mostly buy neutral colors so I can wear them with a variety of outfits, but I occasionally splurge on a unique color (like that gorgeous teal one)! And almost all of mine have pockets for toting around things like my cell phone, snacks, trash I find throughout the house, or whatever random things I need/come across during the day.

I have invested in a TON of yoga pants over the past two years and for good reason: they are the perfect go-to bottoms. The value lies in their ability to be so versatile. For example, I can use them to actually do yoga, which I do once or twice a week. Yet they are also perfect for rolling around on the ground with my two year old or chasing her around the park. Then if we decide to go shopping or out to eat, I pair them with a cute top (like one of those tees above) and they are instantly dressier! Now, I'm not saying you can go to a five-star restaurant in them, but I don't think places like Panera or Ihop would mind. Another perk that some of us moms might find them useful for is their high waists and how they kind of pull everything in a little tighter. I know I personally am not as toned and taut as I was before two babies, so I appreciate my yoga pants making me look and feel a little less flabby and stretched out! Oh, and something that is probably pretty obvious but still worth mentioning is how freakin' comfortable yoga pants are!

I recently started wearing hats for a few reasons. The first is because I literally never do anything to my hair besides pull it back in a bun. I'd totally cut it all off again, but my husband has expressed that he prefers the long hair look on me. The second reason is because I've recently stumbled upon more feminine styles that aren't just good for covering up hair; they are super cute, too! Overall, I love this simple addition to my mom life wardrobe and I think every mom should invest in at least one

Essential Items For Your #MomLife Beauty Routine
I use the phrase 'beauty routine' very loosely, because honestly, it's hard to find the time to really pamper yourself while raising little ones. But that is the great thing about these products - they make you feel put-together while being super efficient!
Essential Items for Your Other #MomLife Needs
These last 2 items fill in the gaps for the other needs you'll face as a mom. Using the things will make this mom life so much less complicated (although, it will still be chaotic - just have to embrace that)!
Something I didn't include but is much more important than any of these items is a good group of mom friends who can laugh with you, cry with you, and let you know that you aren't in this mom thing alone. Those relationships are invaluable and can keep even the most on-the-edge momma in tact!
I hope this help some of you navigate the motherhood waters a little better. If you have items you consider essential to mom life, please share the wealth below in the comments!
