I have a confession to make: I love making gift baskets.
It comes from a joy of giving gifts in general, but it also stems a lot from my love of bargain shopping and finding small but significant items that fill a plethora of needs.
I've had this idea for a gift basket tailored to the needs of a newly pregnant woman for a while, so when a couple very close to me recently told us they were expecting, I was all too happy and eager to put together something for the soon-to-be momma!
Below I will break down all the items in the basket as far as their uses, where I got them from, and how much they cost.
All in all, this basket cost me $72.66. It was a little more than I planned on spending, mainly because of the books. But it's for a very deserving woman who I am SO excited is starting this pregnancy and motherhood journey! So it was money well spent for me.
To make it more cost-effective, you could print out some pregnancy-friendly recipes and a list of top tips from other moms instead of purchasing pricey books like I did. That would save you about $30 and is still super thoughtful because they were handpicked by you! Plus, you could get creative in the presentation of those print-outs: framed, a ribbon-bound booklet - the options are endless!
The goal of this basket is to celebrate a woman's pregnancy as well as give her little comforts to get her through the trials of the first few months. It doesn't have to be huge, elaborate, or expensive. When it comes to making a woman feel special about this journey her body has begun, it truly is the thought that counts. So happy basket-filling!
