When you are growing a little human, it's easy to see what a beautiful gift it is. Feeling their incredibly powerful kicks, seeing their growth at every ultrasound, hearing their quick little hearts beating away.
What's not as easy is feeling beautiful during the whole process. It's no secret that pregnancy is rough on a woman's body, but that doesn't mean you have to look rough for those tumultuous 9 months. The solution? Well-priced, pretty, and practical pieces from PinkBlush Maternity!
Disclaimer: I was not financially compensated for this post, however, I did receive a sample for review purposes. The opinions in this post are completely my own and based on my individual experience.
Most women have one or two items in their wardrobe that whenever they wear them, they feel instantly better about themselves. It could be anything: a great pair of shoes, a cozy cardigan, a perfectly fitting pair of jeans, a comfy pair of yoga pants. Finding that gem of a piece is always a fun and exhilarating experience.
But when you are pregnant, it can be just a little harder to find that magical garment because you are trying to dress an ever-changing body. Luckily, PinkBlush has thought of a solution to this struggle and created some adorable pieces that can make you feel just as stylish, comfortable, and beautiful as when your body wasn't being inhabited by another person!
I was given the opportunity to select a piece from their maternity collection to try on and review, and I can't wait to share why I am SO overjoyed by this addition to my closet!
I chose this dusty blue cowl neck sweater in a medium because fall/winter is coming up and it's time to start dressing the part!
My go-to items to make me feel stylish and feminine are definitely ones that are comfy, versatile, and forgiving where they need to be. I'd say this sweater fits the bill perfectly! Plus, it can accommodate my bump during this season of my life as well as post-partum and beyond.
I can't say enough great things about this sweater - seriously.
As a person with long arms, I love that the sleeves reach all the way to my wrist (and further if I pull them a little more). This is such a struggle for me to find tops with long enough arms, so I was very happy to find this top fit me very proportionately.
It's also SO soft. I thought being made of a polyester and rayon blend that it might be kind of stiff and only somewhat soft. But when I took it out of the box, I seriously wanted to put it on and take a nap in it - yes, it is THAT soft!
Probably my favorite feature about this sweater is the cowl neck. I LOVE a good cowl neck, but they are hard to find. I am so happy to have this one that I can wear so many ways. The best part of a cowl neck, besides making it feel even more like fall and winter, is that it acts as it's own statement piece. So jewelry isn't necessarily needed to play it up. (But, of course, jewelry is always fun and would only add to the prettiness of this top if you just had to wear some!)
I paired the top here with gray pants and neutral booties, which can be either casual or dressy. I love the look of the oversized sweater with skinny jeans because it accentuates the bump by contrasting the wideness of the belly with the slim-look of the legs.
This next way I chose to style this maternity sweater was probably my favorite because it made me feel SO girly, but was still very comfortable and could be played up or down depending on the occasion.
Still sticking with skinny jeans and booties, this outfit is just a tad dressier but still casual thanks to the jeans. And even though I was skeptical of the blue color of the sweater not contrasting well with the blue of the jeans, I think they actually look really great together! Darker jeans would probably look even better, and be more appropriate for the fall/winter season.
The high-heeled booties made the sweater seem more dressy, but no less comfortable or forgiving! I really loved this look and was tempted to propose a date night to my husband just to have an excuse to keep wearing it!
This last look I definitely could have kept wearing because it was so incredibly comfortable and transformed this sweater into lounge wear easily. I especially love that this blue seriously goes with everything - even maroon! Talk about a versatile piece!
Losing the shoes and exchanging jeans for yoga pants was an easy (and welcomed) change, but still left me feeling pretty thanks to this sweater. No reason why sitting around sipping coffee can't be stylish!
