This past February, my husband and I got the unexpected but very awesome news that we are going to be welcoming another little one into the world this October! We are very excited to get to experience this joy all over again and very, very happy to be giving our daughter a little sister to (hopefully) be best friends with as they grow up together!
As we prepare for baby girl's arrival, I've started to try to wrap my head around what our household is going to look like. I've compiled a list of what I need to start doing now to be ready for that day our family grows by one little person!
Whether this is your first pregnancy, second, or more, I hope this list helps you figure out just what you need to prepare for that life-changing day your little one joins the world!
Here's my current to-do list for baby #2:
Supplies/gear we will need
We saved as much as we could from our first time around, so here are a few things I know we will need but already have on hand:
Getting our toddler ready to be a big sis
This is going to be a huge transition for our whole family, but I feel like our daughter's world is going to be the most turned upside down. For our own sanity and hers, we are doing a few things now to ease into that transition.
Tasks to complete
Preparing myself for childbirth & becoming a mommy of two
This is probably the most vital part of my whole preparation, but it is one that I know I will neglect if I don't intentionally work on it.
So now that I have compiled this huge list, I guess I have to actually start doing these things. Geez, it did not seem like we had much to do before I sat down and wrote it all out. Thank goodness we have 5 months to get all this done!
Does your list look similar? Have I left out something important? I most likely did so please don't be shy - let me know what other essentials should be on here in the comments!
