So happy to report that I bought some baby items this week! Okay, so it was only two things, but it is a start what with only 7 weeks left until her expected arrival.
I already have a Baby Tula Baby Carrier and can't wait to use it. However, it requires a separate infant insert to accommodate babies under 15 pounds, so I either needed to purchase it or find an alternative for the first few months of our baby girl's life.
I recently watched a few mommas on Instagram show how beneficial baby wraps can be for infants. They made it sound like a perfect option for the first few months and even showed how easy they are to put on.
I settled on the Moby Wrap Classic Baby Carrier in the prettiest mint color. And the best part for my bargain-loving self was that this item qualified for a 20% off coupon* through Buy Buy Baby. The infant insert for the Baby Tula carrier was not one of the brands I could use that on, so I saved some money and found a great alternative!
*If you are curious about the 20% offer, go create an account on www.buybuybaby.com/ and they will send paper coupons to your mailbox AND place offers in your online account to be used for shopping online.
The other item I bought was this Planet Wise Wet Bag in a teal chevron pattern. I never have a place to put wet/soiled clothes when we have to do a change while out and about, so I bought this to avoid that whole mess! And if my memory serves me correctly, babies goes through a LOT of clothes thanks to spit ups and diaper blowouts!
As far as my symptoms go, the heartburn has ramped up again and I'm popping Tums 2-3 times a day. I know it will go away once the baby is born, just have to get through it!
Lastly, the Braxton-Hicks are getting to me and I really, really hate them. They feel nothing like labor - in fact, I think I'd welcome labor at this point just because those contractions give you a break in between them. These Braxton-Hicks are a constant tightening of the abdomen and it makes me just want to hunch over all the time. And they do not stop!
My Belly Bandit Upsie Belly Support brace helps me most days, but if I don't put it on right away and I start doing things in the morning, I am in pain the rest of the day regardless if I wear it or not. I think it's just my body's way of carrying the extra weight, but wow is it exhausting and uncomfortable!
Well, that's it for this week's update. One last thing, though; if you are looking for a more comprehensive look at pregnancy, check out my post Pregnancy: The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly. I offer insight into the wonderful, amazing things about these 9 months as well as the not-so-lovely things us women experience during this time!
